IHNS signs a general agreement with the INR/NHRF

The Institute for the History of Natural Sciences (IHNS, CAS) and The Institute for Neohellenic Research of the National Hellenic Research Foundation (INR/NHRF) signed a general agreement on July 21, 2011.

Prof. ZHANG Baichun, the director of the IHNS, and Prof. Efthymios Nicolaidis, on behalf of the vice-president of the NHRF, signed the agreement. The purpose of the cooperation is to strengthen institutional relations between the two institutes in order to identify and realize common interest activities using the abilities and synergies of each other.  The coming five years activities will be concerned:

-     Research activities;

-     Historical heritage activities ;

-     Education end diffusion activites

The Institute for Neohellenic Research of the National Hellenic Research Foundation (INR/NHRF) was established in 1960, with the purpose to study Modern Greek Society in all its aspects, from the 15th century to the present. In order to accomplish its purpose, the Institute carries on research programmes and projects covering Cultural, Social, Economic and Political history.  Prof. Efthymios Nicolaidis is Secretary General of the International Union of the History and Philosophy of Science / Division of History of Science and Technology (member ICSU of UNESCO) and member of the Board of the International Academy of History of Science. At the same time, he is co-editor of the Critical science and education, the Newsletter for the History of Science in Southeastern Europe and member of the board of Themes in Education, of Revue d'histoire des sciences and of Studies in Ottoman Science.
